There is a small garden outside our beautiful theater and thanks to Pete Dorton's green thumbs and investment in making that garden bloom it has transformed from a patch of earth (dirt) with a lovely tree to an actual garden.

I am perpetually impressed by the caliber of work that is featured in our New Work Development Reading nights or festivals. The Past. Present. Future. Reading night on March 31, 2026 was no exception, there were 3 new plays featured and they were fantastic. Ocean Harris, our Interim New Work Development Director, curated a moving, stimulating and thought provoking night of new works - WELL DONE Ocean and THANK YOU for working so hard to create this wonderful night.

Our new musical, The Paparazzi is closing this weekend and while that is sad, we had a good run. I will miss the happy voices of the 16 strong cast and musicians coming in to get ready for each performance. They have had such a great vibe, laughing and joking with each other and hopefully creating lasting bonds.

On March 1st 8 talented and brave teenagers got onto the AMT Theater stage and blew us all away with their thought provoking and intelligent show, 2040 - A Play With Music. This beautiful play was crafted by these students under the masterful guidance of Mary Lauren who facilitated a 5 week theater workshop called Stand Up, Reach Out!

Despite Storm Fern and the frigid temperatures our friends and supporters joined us for an evening of celebrating all things Horton Foote and increasing our theater knowledge.

AMT has been especially privileged this year with the sheer number of people who have volunteered to help us. It seems hollow, but it is deeply sincere when I say that we cannot thank you enough for the time that you have given to help us move forward with our mission.

Three of the AMT Team, Kelli Maguire, Toby Sportiello and myself, Zoë Reeve, spent a magical weekend in Texas to support the production of National Pastime presented by McKinney Repertory Theatre.

On September 10th, 11th and 12th 2025 AMT proudly presented Invisible Fish, a one woman show written and conceived by Kelli Maguire, based on her real life experiences growing up in a carnival. Pete Dorton directed the evening of songs and memories, with Music Direction by David Wolfson and Choreography by Zoë Reeve.

The AMT Theater team is brimming with pride at being voted BEST VENUE in Hell's Kitchen at the W42ST Best of 2024 Awards last week.

It takes a village to run a theater and produce a new musical, thank you to everyone in the AMT Village for helping us make DAVID a success.
