I WANT JOAN CRAWFORD’S OSCAR
A true story lived, written and performed by Craig Horsley
In 1993, while working as an accountant in Abu Dhabi, a Liz Smith clipping from the Daily News came in the mail to Craig Horsley. The estate of Joan Crawford was auctioning off her Academy Award. Craig always dreamed of having an Oscar…One problem…He could not sing, dance or act and in fact had never been on stage or in a film. This was his big chance to own that golden statue.
How far would he go to get that Oscar?
Filled with humor and suspense join his journey as he pursues his lifelong dream.
ABOUT THEATER IQ
AMT Theater launched the Theater IQ Series in July 2025 to great acclaim. This project aims to enhance theater knowledge amongst theater goers and performers and the public at large through readings of theatrical works, both classic and contemporary, followed by an educational discussion to dive deeper into the plays world, on the playwright, the play itself or perhaps a particular production or creative artist (director, actor, etc.) of past productions of the piece. The process of Theater IQ begins with the selection of a play, chosen by a committee. Scripts are printed and the main characters are cast from a pool of AMT actors. The rest of the roles are then cast at the beginning of the evening from the audience. There is no rehearsal for this; the audience is hearing it out loud at the same time as the actors. Once the play is finished, a talkback session will follow to discuss the play’s impact on a modern audience.
RUMORS by Neil Simon
Chris and Ken Gorman arrive at a fancy dinner party for their friend, Charley Brock. They discover that all is not well, and that Charley has had an accident involving a shotgun and his earlobe. This could be damaging to Charley’s reputation, as he is deputy mayor of New York City. Chris and Ken’s friends begin to arrive. As they attempt to cover up the facts, hilarity ensues. Neil Simon’s Rumors is a charming farce with lots of gags, twists, zingers, and zanies, but it also borrows from Simon’s life experience to depict the challenges, as well as the comforts, of married life.

Marvin Gayatgay returns to the New York stage after a four-year wait. His last shows in New York were two sold out solo shows at Urban Stages Theatre. In reviews from that show, his first on stage alone, he was described by Broadway World as "an exquisite vocalist," and "so pleasant that it is impossible not to like him." Times Square Chronicles said, "this man has a charm about him" but also added that he has "his own brand of Tom Jones sexuality."
He has performed throughout the world with world-renowned Philippines Madrigal Singers and was part of the batch of those singers that achieved a rare second victory at the 2007 European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in Arezzo, Italy.
After sold out solo concerts in the Philippines and well received concerts in Illinois and Michigan, he is thrilled to be back in New York at AMT Theater.
Listen to his recording of the original song “Lord, Lead the Way” on Spotify.
