In Memory of Georganne Aldrich Heller
October 28, 1931 – March 23, 2026

AMT Theater mourns the passing of our beloved board member, colleague, and friend, Georganne Aldrich Heller, who passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born in New York City on October 28, 1931, Georganne lived a remarkable life devoted to the arts, cultural advocacy, and the advancement of theater and film. Whether in New York, Pasadena, or on stages around the world, she brought extraordinary vision, passion, and dedication to every project she touched.

As President of Irish Theatre & Film Production, Georganne was a pioneering force in bringing Irish voices and stories to international audiences. Her distinguished producing career spanned decades and included acclaimed productions such as Who’s Your Daddy? by Johnny O’Callaghan, nominated for a GLAAD Award; Pat Kinevane’s Forgotten; and The Prophet of Monto by John Paul Murphy, which earned multiple festival nominations and won Best Actress honors. Her extensive body of work included productions at the Irish Arts Center, the Irish Repertory Theatre, the Victory Theatre in Los Angeles, and stages throughout the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Among her many achievements, Georganne produced the feature film Red Roses & Petrol, starring Malcolm McDowell, and the Lifetime television series A Whole New You. She was also a co-founder of Women in Film, a member of the International Women’s Forum, and served for five years as Cultural Director for the Borough of Manhattan, leaving a lasting impact on the cultural life of New York City.

Beyond her impressive accomplishments, those who knew Georganne will remember her generosity, intelligence, unwavering support of artists, and deep belief in the transformative power of theater. She was a champion of new work, a mentor to countless theater makers, and an advocate for stories that deserved to be told.

As a member of the AMT Theater Board of Directors, Georganne brought wisdom, experience, and encouragement that strengthened our organization and inspired our community. Her guidance helped shape our mission, and her friendship enriched all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

We are profoundly grateful for her contributions to the arts and to AMT Theater. Her legacy lives on in the productions she championed, the artists she supported, and the countless lives she touched.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and the many colleagues who mourn her loss. Georganne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
